Coronado's dining scene is having a busy year. A large second-floor space on Orange Avenue is open again, a new hotel brought two new rooms across from the Hotel del Coronado, and a big waterfront restaurant is under construction at the Ferry Landing. “New and rising” here means opened within about the last year. It is not a ranking. “Longtime favorites” are places that keep appearing on recent local lists.
New and rising
- By The Sea (1300 Orange Ave, second floor) — Greek- and Italian-inspired seafood, cocktails. New. A Mediterranean seafood room in the former Boardwalk Beach Club space, with a seafood tower, a mezze platter and a wine list that favors small independent producers. - Night Hawk (1315 Orange Ave (The Baby Grand hotel)) — Greek and Mediterranean cooked over fire. New. An open-air Greek and Mediterranean restaurant built around rock-formed booths, with most dishes cooked over fire. It sits across Orange Avenue from the Hotel del Coronado. - Dive (1417 Orange Ave (The Bower, third floor)) — California coastal, rooftop bar and restaurant. New. Coronado's first rooftop restaurant and bar, on the third floor of the 39-room Bower hotel, serving California coastal dishes with local ingredients. It is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. - La Corriente Cocina del Pacifico (Orange Ave at Isabella Ave (Coronado Historical Association cafe)) — Pacific Mexican seafood. New. A Tijuana-born seafood restaurant that took over the Coronado Historical Association's cafe space, with ceviches, tostadas and tacos. This is its second California location. Opened in 2025. - SunLife Organics at Del Beach (Del Beach, Hotel del Coronado (custom Airstream)) — Smoothies, bowls and matcha. New. A wellness smoothie brand's newest outpost, in a custom Airstream parked on Del Beach. It serves guests and the public, with two drinks made only for the Del. Opened June 2026. - Maiden Coronado (Ferry Landing, next to Il Fornaio) — Indoor-outdoor coastal seafood. Coming soon. A roughly 12,000-square-foot waterfront seafood restaurant from San Diego hospitality group Social Syndicate, going up on a lot beside Il Fornaio.
